Trillian from the Hitchhiker's Guide. Ultimately one of my least fav characters but I did like her in the first book.
Her description:

Trillian is a brilliant mathematician and astrophysicist
"a slim, darkish humanoid, with long waves of black hair, a full mouth, and odd little knob of a nose and ridiculously brown eyes"

her character in the tv series was the only one poorly casted as her voice sounded high pitched and squeaky and she was a blond bimbo who looked nothing like Trillian's description.
